Day 32: Rochester, MN to La Crosse, WI

Today we set out in rain.....torrential rain. Nothing stops the bike tour except lightning. We get wet, and when you are really wet, you don't get any wetter. We biked 30 miles in three hours against stinging rain and headwinds with visibility about half a mile. Now I know I can do that. Later, the weather improved and we finished with blue skies. For fifteen miles we followed a paved bike path, a former railroad, through gorgeous country, and ended at a cute store that was justly famous for its pies and cookies. Finally, a very steep ascent over the mountain range, down to the Mississippi and Wisconsin. We are now in the East!! Over 7 hours to bike 90 miles....hard going.
