Day 15: Idaho Falls, ID to Jackson Hole, WY

A long, long day...challenging to bike, spectacular scenery the whole length, and several "firsts", left me exhausted when I arrived at the hotel. We departed the hotel at 6.15 (early on the long distance days). We celebrated 1,000 miles early in the ride. At midday, a long climb up to the first summit at 6,800 feet. Then we left Idaho and passed into our third state...Wyoming...on the way up the Teton Pass at 8,400 ft. A huge, steep climb that I was not able to crest without walking up the steepest grades. Fabulous views from the top, and a "technical" descent, meaning it required skill to maintain control, on which I achieved 49 mph. We rode 92 miles in all.
