Day 20: Casper to Lusk, WY

Another century today across remote country...one can only imagine how the single inhabitant of Lost Springs feels. For the first time, we were threatened by rain as a storm gathered to our right with thunder and lightning, and we increased the pace to get into the motel. We passed a railway museum in Douglas, WY and saw how train travel might have been 70 years ago.

Day 19: Casper, WY

Today is a badly needed rest day, to soothe aching muscles and relieve sore butts. Also a day for laundry, bike maintenance, phone calls to England (which I cannot make on a bike day because everyone there is asleep when we pull into the hotel). Howard (in the photo) is 78, the oldest rider, and has ridden across the USA four times, as well as many other countries. He is a surgeon and dermatologist. Katie, also eating ice cream, is one of the youngest.
